We love Christmas! …consumerism, not so much. So this Christmas, give something that means something, as the Shutterfly commercials say. But visit the Re Gift Exchange before and after church in December, so that “something” is not ordered online, either…;)
[Re]gift Exchange: Bring items in re-giftable quality to swap with others. In the spirit of low-waste anti capitalism, we welcome items that are upcycled, recycled, and handmade. Have a present? Leave one! Want a present? Take one! Want to make a donation? Super! Want to purchase something? Too bad; there are no prices.
Some ideas:
- Home-made jams and jellies
- Puzzles and board games ready for a new home (make a plan for what to do in the after-dinner lull at family gatherings!)
- ‘Orphaned’ one off cards from Holiday seasons past (do people remember receiving the same design two years in a row? Best not to chance it; exchange it instead!)
- Christmas mugs you’ll never use but don’t want to throw away
- White Elephant Exchange items are fair game 😉
