Curtis & Loretta’s music comes straight from the heart. The husband and wife folk singer/songwriter duo’s extraordinary harmonies and proficiency on a parade of stringed instruments create an alluring frame for their poignant original songs, and carefully chosen traditional pieces. Between them, they play folk harp, mandocello, guitars, banjo, and ukulele, plus a bit of harmonica, shakers, and kazoo. City Pages entertainment newspaper named them “Best Performers of the Twin Cities.” They’ve been awarded an Artist Initiative grant in 2015, and an Arts Tour Minnesota grant in 2010, both from the State Arts Board. Curtis Teague and Loretta Simonet hail from northeast Minneapolis but they rack up countless miles each year, crisscrossing the country to perform for their loyal following from coast to coast.
“Curtis and Loretta are in many ways the quintessential folk duo: finely honed vocal harmonies of multidimensional intrigue, abundant talent on anarray of stringed instruments, deep traditional roots, great originals, andequally strong strains of gravity and playful irreverence… It’s both musically riveting and spiritually invigorating.” …Rick Mason, CityPages A-List
