The liturgy of the church follows a form, a rhythm, an ancient “spine” of worship that is still being lovingly followed and arranged in compelling new forms. John Hermanson, an award-winning songwriter and composer, will lead his new setting of this liturgy called “Is This the Feast of Victory?” John is a member of the acclaimed duo Storyhill and a regular performer on NPR’s A Prairie Home Companion. He is also the founder of the art rock band Alva Star and was a member of the indie-rock group The Hopefuls. Both bands have been featured in TV shows including Six Feet Under and The OC.

Here’s one of his original psalms settings for you to meditate upon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRvkk2DZj5M
